Gulf in Quebec

Founded in 1901, it was during its history, the largest oil company in 1941 while in 1971 it had slipped to ninth place. Gulf has been merged to Chrevron in 1984 following the loss of speed of business. It subsequently underwent a restructuring that resulted in the sale of Canadian Gulf's assets. Thus the 1800 service stations in western Quebec will be sold to Petro-Canada in 1985 for $ 886 million. In Quebec, the assets will be sold at Ultramar one year later.
